Discover Thriving in Community
At Why Community Now we network connections with people and communities because we know that people in vibrant and dynamic communities thrive.
Living in community is foundational to the human experience and all too rare in this modern, digital age. The cultural pursuit of “me” has forgotten the value of “we” and that is changing. Our aim is to provide a welcoming and inclusive alternative to the alienating, disconnected and competitive nature of modern life.

Our Journey Begins
In the Galapagos Islands with a Regenesis Incubator experiment focused on “community building.” Regenesis refers to a process of going back to the beginning…of anything, and rediscovering the basic building blocks of your focus. It could be a garden, a construction project, an event, a relationship, or in this case, a community. The idea is to examine the assumptions that have built something before and to either affirm those “building blocks,” refine them, discard them, or even consider new ones. This pilot episode in the Galapagos is the beginning of a docu-series focused on the best practices that define a thriving community experience…for the “me” and the “we.”

Docu-Series

Why Community Now is a planned docu-series underway focused on communities. How do they happen, their history and why do they happen? Are they a biological need? Or have we outlived the need? Where is community thriving and where has it failed? Primary however is featuring in urban, rural and isolated parts of the world where communities and the people in them are indeed, thriving. They live longer. They are healthier. They are happier and more fulfilled. Explored and highlighted in this docu-series will be successful and vital community elements that create systems for the individual and for the community.
